STAGE 1 EJ20 2.3L STROKER BUILT SHORT BLOCK
STAGE 1 EJ20 2.3L STROKER BUILT SHORT BLOCK
FUTURE MOTORSPORTS STAGE 1 IMPREZA EJ20 2.3L STROKER BUILT SHORT BLOCK.
THIS SETUP WILL GIVE PLENTY OF LOW DOWN, MID RANGE AND TOP END TORQUE AND HORSEPOWER DUE TO THE DISPLACEMENT INCREASE TO THE EJ20 BLOCK.
We can build any street or Race shortblock for your needs.
This particular short block is uses the Brian Crower 2.3L Stroker kit with the strongest 625 conrods and 625 rod bolts. And is ideal for the daily driver or the occasional drag or circuit/track day enthusiast driver who wants to run high horsepower and be reliable at the same time.
We first start with the a EJ20 block and dissasemble the entire block, thoroughly cleaning and checking everything. After being stripped down, the block is sonic checked for any flaws, cracks, or imperfections.
We start by boring and honing out the block to suit the new Brian Crower Stroker Pistons made by CP Pistons, normally to an oem un-sleeved open deck or semi open deck block we only use the 0.50mm oversized pistons (for sleeved or closed deck blocks we can use the 1.0mm oversized pistons).
Each cylinder is setup for each individual piston and ring sets gapped for a specific requirement you have for this engine's use.
The 2.3 Litre Brian Crower Crankshaft, the CP pistons and Brian Crower 625 conrods are double checked against their factory specification sheets.
Once fully checked, the assembly process begins where each bearing is checked for appropriate clearances. We can choose a varying array of bearings for your specific needs and power output but mainly use Clevite or ACL Bearings including NEW thrust bearings from ACL or Clevite.
The whole short block is assembled with OEM Subaru block casing bolts (ARP block casing bolts is an additional charge).
We also check the block for any un-eveness and deck the block as necessary noting how much is taken off for a perfect end/overall compression ratio and we ensure both block casing is re-faced evenly for optimum engine balance. This is also so there is a perfectly flat surface for your head gasket and helps elimate the possibility of failure.
So to sum up with this 2.3L stroker block setup you get the following within this price:
- STAGE 1 Brian Crower 2.3 Litre Stroker kit with the Brian Crower 625 rods and bolts and a fully built and engineered short block EJ23!!
- ALL Machining & engineering work and Labour including balancing, cleaning, tolerence checking, sonic and pressure testing. Re-worked oil and water passages.
- ACL or Clevite complete engine bearing set, includes Conrod Bearings, Main (crank) bearings AND Thrust Bearings (Thrust washers).
- OEM Subaru block casing bolts (ARP block casing bolts are an optional extra).
- ALL Labour charges to build to an extremely high and reliable spec.

Once YOUR block has been given the "OK" we will refund your £300 innitial deposit. If it is not re-usable we will return the block to you and there will be a core surcharge payable.
This short block will be delivered with a folder FULL of useful infomration regarding your engines entire specification from bearing sizes to clearneces, ring gaps, torque settings etc etc, fully certified to industry standards for measrung and tooling accuracy.
In addition, we will not describe to you every little single thing we do to make our blocks and and engines last the longest and hold the most power. We have spent a lot of time and money in research and development in the past 10 years or so to make the best engines around. Sorry, but we are not going to lay out every last detail here for our competitors to see what we do that they do not.
We have learnt A LOT (in the past 12 years) from working with many stroker kits and what special modifications (trade secrets) need to be done for a reliable stroker engine which gets applied to ALL our Stroker Builds. Have you heard of some Stroker kits and their blocks failing here in the UK by supposed "well known" tuners / "specific vehicle specialists"??? Well they have failed because these "special" mods were not done. Unfortuantly you only get this information from years of development and experience on our own engines also dealing and building strong relations with the stroker kit manufacturers such as HKS, Brian Crower etc and Their engineers and engine builders.
