Tomei made these Valve Guides from Phosphor Bronze (Cn-Sn-P alloy) since it has high tesile strength and superior heat transferring ability. They are important factors in high power and high RPM engines. Since race engines require higher RPM and leaner AFR mixtures, these engines experience extreme heat conditions which will deteriorate valvetrain related components over time. The Phosphor Bronze material has exceptional lower friction characteristic and best possible clearances to reduce stress on the valvetrain, prevent seizures, and cracking under high stress loads. NOTE: This kit comes with 16 valve guides for both intake and exhaust side.
